Max was working as head of the back office function for the National Bank of Kazkahstan when he was invited to join Kusto in 2002 by his friend and Kusto founder Yerkin Tatishev. Starting as a financial analyst, today Max is CEO of Tambour, the leading Israeli paint, coatings and gypsum board company acquired in 2014.
His key strengths are finance and strategy and his latest goal is to turn Israel’s number one paint manufacturer into a global brand within 10 years. For him, teamwork is the most important way to succeed, a narrative that he is instilling at Tambour.
"Tambour is a great company with great products and it’s a privilege to be in a position to take it beyond Israel. I’m in a team that will expand the company’s horizons and bring quality products to new markets across the world," he says.
A graduate from the Kazakh Academy of Management in finance and accounting, Max speaks Kazakh, Russian, English and Turkish. Family is important to him and despite travelling extensively for work he spends as much time with his three children as he can. He is an avid swimmer and runner.
